Go and Do Likewise

By the Rev. Dr. Benjamin E. Bernier

In recent months we have witnessed as a nation an unprecedented escalation in violence, protests leading to increasing social unrest, which, if continued, could devolve even into civil war and revolution. A lot of this has been generated and justified before Christians as a response to deeply engrained evils in our society having to do with racial and social discrimination, which manifests itself in particular instances of systemic abuse. In this view, the problem is an unjust system, and our duty is to help overthrow it by force.
